be也是一个动词，be表示“是”、“变成”、“处于”的意思。我们经常叫它be动词。

be动词有哪些？

be动词包括：be、am、is、are、was 、were、been、being。

be是动词原形；

is是be的第三人称单数；

was、were是be的过去式；

been是be的过去分词；

being是be的现在分词。

be动词的用法：

am用在一般现在时，和 I 搭配，如：

I am a student.

我是一个学生。

I am at the coffee shop.

我在咖啡店。

is用在一般现在时的第三人称单数（He is、She is、It is、Lily is……）。如：

He is a policeman.

他是一个警察。

Tony is Kate's boyfriend.

托尼斯凯特的男朋友。

are用在一般现在时的第二人称复数（You are，We are、They are……），如：

We are volunteers.

我们是志愿者。

Books are on the shelf.

书本在书架上。

was用在一般过去时的单数（I、He、She、It……），如：

I was an accountant.

were用在一般过去时的复数（You、We、They……），如：

been用在完成时态，如：
